***UPDATE*** On 9th July 2017 we came together to celebrate Bertie and take part in Bertie's 300. The day was a huge success and we are so nearly at our fundraising target of £100,000. You can still donate here http://www.treeofhope.org.uk/bertie-petty/ and be one of Bertie's 300! For photos of the day please click here
HUGE THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART - WE DID IT!
If you have got to this page then I'm sure you have already been touched by the heartbreaking diagnosis that Bertie Petty received last year. If you want to learn more about Bertie please click here.
Bertie's 300 has been set up by his friends and family with a target of raising £100,000. This money will be used to transform an area of his parent's house into a space for Bertie; a ground floor bedroom adapted to his needs, a wetroom/bathroom so that they are able to bathe him using hoists and specialist bath equipment, a sensory room which will help to stimulate him with specialist sensory toys, space for the different carers who come and help look after Bertie and storage for all his feeds and equipment, as well as access into and around the house and into the garden. Funds may also be used to pay for Bertie's care, specialist equipment and anything that will make life easier and more accessible for Bertie and those who care for him.
£100,000 sounds like a huge fundraising target, but with the gift aid we receive from our charity partner Tree of Hope, it is just 300 people raising £300 each. Bertie's 300 is either a sponsored marathon bike ride (26 miles) or half marathon walk (13 miles) or a 3 mile 'stroll' which is suitable for kids, finishing up with a family BBQ in the sunshine. We hope you will join us on the 9th July 2017 in Stansted, a beautiful village just 25 miles from London where we will come together to try and raise the money that will make a world of difference to Bertie and his family.
Even if you can’t participate on July 9th you can still be one of the 300 by donating £300 - just click here http://www.treeofhope.org.uk/bertie-petty/ Any donation big or small is hugely appreciated.
WILL YOU BE ONE OF BERTIE'S 300?
